Multiplying a 2-digit number by 1 1/16
Multiply the number by 7.
Divide this product by 6.
Ex:
If the number to be multiplied by 1 1/16 is 57:
Multiply by 7: 7 × 57 = 350 + 49 = 399.
Divide this product by 6: 399/6 = 66 3/6.
Then 57 × 1 1/16 = 66 1/2.
